Breaking Hearts & Burning Rubber

Super stoked to be doing some influencer stuff with Breaking Hearts & Burning Rubber. I get asked to do posts about all sorts of brands but I usually say hell no unless it's something I actually wear and like.

BH & BR is one of my favourite women-ran brands. Leslie, the founder, had only met me one time ever before and offered for me to stay on her couch for 3 days when I was in a jam on my first-ever trip to New York. While I was there, she invited me to her studio which was right beside Times Square. I was so impressed with her set up and her factory which she shares with the brand Modern Vice. She has so many tools, machines and leather stock, it's insane. At the time she was talking about launching her brand into more than just boots and now she's got it all, leather jackets, riding boots, gloves, clothing and more. This month she's offering a sale on her website for her new and best selling items. You can check it out HERE

I also got a pair of boots from them that I am giving away at the International Female Ride Day I'm hosting on May 5th at Trev Deeley in Vancouver BC, so there's another reason not to miss that (See event details in previous post HERE)

Here's some shots of my new jacket!! I haven't taken it off since I got it...

LOSERPALOOZA.

I AM STOKED to officially annouce LOSERPALOOZA. A party with a focus on motorcycles, a pig roast, art, tattooing, music and photography. It goes down on Sept. 17th in the Ellis Building @ 1024 Main Street in Vancouver, BC.

LOSERPALOOZA has been heavy in the works for the past couple months. We've got bikes coming from all down the West Coast, artists and photographers from all over the place showcasing their work, and a ton of local and non-local people coming to help out and hang with us in YVR.

The event is sponsored by Loser Machine, Biltwell, Coors Banquet, Fast Times Magazine and OF COURSE Road Apples!

To celebrate the announcement, Biltwell has donated 5 helmets for us to giveaway. Go to the @loserpaloooza Instagram page and tag 4 members of your crew. At the end of this week, we will send each one of you a full-face Biltwell Gringo!

Check out the poster below made by Loser Machine and the announcement video made by Blaine Connolly.

We can't wait! See you all in a couple months.

Sunshine Coast

Went on fun little trip during the Easter break. We left in the truck with the bikes in the back from Vancouver, BC and headed to the ferry terminal. From there, we drove up the Sunshine coast, past Ruby lake and up to the furthest point where there's another hour-long ferry that takes you to the Powell River coast. We'd never been up that far, so we pitched a tent in an empty fern-filled government campground, made a bon fire and cooked steak on our BBQ. The next morning, we left our truck in Powell River and took the bikes North. We rode through some small roads up to Lund, BC where there was literally nothing but a small passenger ferry that went to Savory Island. We heard about FSR (logging) roads that would take you right to the tip of that peninsula where you could look out over Desolation Sound and the Pacific Ocean. Safe to say the trip was awesome, and we found some pretty cool stuff. We rode back to Powell River, BBQ'd on the beach then took a ferry from there to Comox on Vancouver Island. Really awesome trip and looking forward to more backcountry adventure this summer!

Day at the Dunes

The Richmond dunes is a huge chunk of land in the Vancouver outskirts used for dirt dumping from local construction and mill sites. We use it to throw our bikes around. It's always changing and there's always a ton of different types of dirt biking going on here. Every sunny Sunday, Mitch Kirilo, Matt Savage and a bunch of his buds go out and rip around on their dirt bikes. It's starting to get pretty frosty out there but when you drop your bike in the sand and have to pick it up a million times, it starts feeling like the middle of summer.

Hawks Nest

The Hawks Nest in one of many East Vancouver workshop spaces. The boys in this spot are pretty funny to be around, and they've got a lot of cooks in the kitchen but they always seem to make shit run! Here's their space:
