The Eastside Flea in Vancouver, BC is a big deal in the community of local small businesses. The Flea hosts dozens of vendors monthly in different locations around the city where the community gets the chance to come buy locally made, vintage and home grown goods. Recently, the Eastside Flea has invested in a permanent space in the Ellis Building on Main Street, which is a 10,000 square foot space that will host studios for local businesses, a motorcycle garage and a regular flea with wide-open doors.
One of the main studios of the building is now home to the Born A Bad Seed studio where the entire business is now ran out of. A couple weekends ago, we got the chance to get into the building and shoot a ton of the Bad Seed apparel with film photographer, Amanda Leigh-Smith.
Starting this week, studio renters and Eastside Flea vendors are moving into the space. Although we've been renovating, dry walling, painting and working our asses off to make this building come back to life, the space still needs some work, and specifically, your help. An "IndieGogo" account has been set up by the boss ladies of this project where they're asking for cash donations from the community. Check out the video above for some more information on everything that is going on. The project has had some serious coverage including Van City Buzz, The Georgia Straight and many more. Check out the story and images on the Straight website here. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and put to good use! Can't wait to get you guys in here to check it out, some bad ass things are in the making for 2016 because of this place!
