International Female Ride Day - Vancouver 2018

The Vancouver meet-up on International Female Ride Day went off without a hitch. 100 women showed up to the Trev Deeley Harley Davidson on Saturday morning to celebrate and ride for the yearly event.

We hung out, drank coffee, and won some prizes before taking off on a group ride to Deep Cove. Over 100 motorcycles took over the Dollarton Highway and then the cul-de-sec right down on the ocean side in Deep Cove. The turnout was so amazing and the sun was out and warm.

The first time I hosted the Vancouver meet-up of IFRD, 4 ladies showed up and each year since, the attendance has doubled.

It makes me so stoked to ride next to these local ladies every year on this day. HOG is covering the story for their magazine (keep an eye out!) and CBC did a write up on their website. See it HERE.

BOBs @ The Dream Roll

It was WAY cool to have professional snowboarders Hana Beaman, Sarka Pancochova and Cheryl Maas come out to the Dream Roll last summer. These babes just finished competing in the Slopestyle and Big Air events in the Winter Olympics and are also badass motorcyclists and skateboarders. They made a documentary about their trip with Harley Davidson and Red bull and it just launched! Check it out below.

International Female Ride Day, Vancouver

The first Saturday in May is International Female Ride Day. This will be the 5th year that I host Vancouvers' meet-up - and I think it's going to be the best one yet.

Each year the attendance doubles and it's easily the biggest meet up of women on bikes in the country. This year, we are meeting at the Trev Deeley Harley Davidson at 11am on May 5th. I've got a bunch of stuff from sponsors to give away, thanks to Converse, Stance, Harley Davidson, and Brixton. I'll also raffle off a Dream Roll ticket, so even if you're not able to go on the ride or don't have a bike yet, show up and meet some other ladies who ride, grab a free coffee, win a prize and say hey! Everyone is welcome but ladies only on the ride which will depart at 12:30pm and will head to Deep Cove. We will park our bikes and hangout for a bit and afterwards, everyone is free to do what they'd like!

IFRD celebrates women who ride, inspires women to get up and go and encourages women to meet other women who do what they do. Every type of bike and women is welcome!

Mama Tried

Spent last weekend in Milwaukee for the Mama Tried Show. It was my first time ever to the Midwest and it did not disappoint. I got sent to the show through Revolution Motorcycle Magazine, Canadas largest custom motorcycle mag. I covered the show and my trip for them and just wrapped up the story, so check it out in the next issue. Here's some sneak peek photos from the show:

I also got to go to the Harley Davidson Museum while I was in Milwaukee. If you ever get the chance to go to Milwaukee during the Mama Tried weekend, you won't be let down. There is so much to do there in a 3 day trip, especially if you're a motorcycle fanatic. Here's a shot of the Captain America bike from Easy Rider... No it's not the original, but a perfect replica. They have no clue where the original is (apparently..) I'll put up more shots after the story is released!

DicE Podcast

I landed in LA and within a couple hours, I found myself in some weird dudes bedroom that was set-up like a recording studio along side the "Chopper Hoes," Kahli Smith and Melissa of Moldie Goldies. Turns out, DicE Magazine wanted to interview my buds for their new Podcast because Melissa recently had a couple-page write up (and made the cover) in the newest issue of their mag. I got dragged along but ended up having a pretty fun night and got to know the dudes from DicE a little bit better - they crazy. Anyway, the episode got a lot of heat from the social media activists out there, but hey, maybe you should listen to it yourself and make your own opinions!

HIGHNOON SCRAMBLE 10

On October 29th, the TENTH High Noon Scramble went down at the end of # 6 road: The Richmond Dunes. The race is a multiple-lap loop around some sketchy obstacles, jumps, hill climbs, and burms. The categories include mono shock and vintage. Us spectators don't really care too much about all that though, we just love watching these dudes dress up and eat shit in the sand. Overall, some highlights included:

  • Mike Babs Goul head costume
  • Nicks Maico 250
  • The EZ TV Broadcast crew
  • The trike dude that smashed into Elliots new truck
  • Keddie lighting off a firework when he won runner-up
  • The snowmobile over-heating and then proceeding to hit the jump over and over again
  • The beer pong crew
  • Myk Roc
  • The dude who didn't bring a costume and was forced into riding in his underwear
  • Bri's Filth Mode cookies
  • Some random girl who gave me a cheddar smokey
  • The winners belt
  • Curtis wresting the winner (WWE style)

All in all, the event was awesome as it is every year. The new belt that has been made for future years will be up for grabs next Halloween season... Who will take it next time!!?? For now, here's some 35mm film photos I shot on my Olympus Stylus:

HOG Magazine - "Hometown Ride With Dad"

The September 2017 issue of HOG Magazine has recently launched. There is a 8 page spread I wrote and provided some photos for on the hometown trip I did with my Dad back in July. HOG Magazine is Harley Davidson owned mag and you can pick it up for free at any Harley Davidson dealership. As of September, our article is only in Canada but they could possibly run it in the next issue of HOG in the states, I'll be sure to let you know if it does!
