The One Motorcycle Show

The One Motorcycle Show is always a wicked time. This is the 3rd year in a row that I went down with Yamaha master Tory Potoroka from Dirt First Dirt Last. Last year he brought down his SR cafe/tracker and this year he brought down his XT500 chopper build.

It's rad being able to tag along with a builder from the show because I get to watch all the builders roll their bikes in and see who built what. This year my favourite bikes were the Canadian chopper crew obviously, Tyler Lepore's Panhead which won Best Chopper & Kenneth from Moto Galore's Flathead OH MY GODDDDDDDDD. I spent a lot of the weekend doing some content creation for Vancouver based brand Hitcase, so here's a couple pictures I took with their new product:

Dirt Quake USA #3

Got to go hangout at Dirt Quake USA this past weekend. This event has got to be one of my favourites. Best people and best vibes. Watching this type of flat track racing in person is also really insane. It's cool to see an event that is put on by rad people and brings out good people. If you ever get the chance, head over to Castle Rock, Washington and hit it up. Even if you've never raced before, this event encourages everyone to participate. This is the second year in a row that I pussied out of racing but there's a ton of people who just go for it. You won't regret this trip!

The 1 Moto: Dirt Firsts' SR500

There's a shit-tonne of cool bikes at the 1 Moto show in Portland. This year I think everyone can agree that the calibre of bikes compared to previous years is out the roof. This year, I got to be a close part of one of the bikes coming down to the show hailing from Vancouver, BC. Tory Potoroka does "Dirt First" Garage here in Canada, where he is known to perfectly rebuild old Yamaha's top to bottom. He re-built the engine in my XT500 and has had his hands on the majority of XTs here in Vancouver and around the Province.

For the 1 Moto Show 2016, he decided to rebuild an SR500 that he had been slowly working on over the past 3 years. The Show got Tory's ball rolling and under three months, the engine was re-built, the tank was painted, and the bike was shipped in parts from all over the world to his basement shop in Strathcona.

On Friday morning we cruised the i5 down to Portland. We spent the weekend looking at crazy amounts of rad bikes, but this SR is one of my personal favourites. An old Yamaha at it's finest! Can't wait to see what Tory will mock up for 2017.

The 1Moto Show

The One Moto Show put on by See See Motorcycles is happening February 12-13-14 this year in Portland, OR. Stoked to trek down this year and be a part of this event, it's a shit ton of fun.

The Dream Roll will be a part of the official after-party happening on the Saturday night of the event hosted by Strange Vacation. Check out the poster below & come out if you're in town for this!

Dirt Quake USA 2015

It only took 10kms after crossing into America before our brand new Sprinter blew a tire. It was most likely a Canadian screw that was sticking out of the rubber considering we loaded the choppers at the most used workspace in Vancouver. After jacking up the rear of the passenger van with the 3 old-ass motorcycles in the back, we drove another 5 hours south toward Castle Rock, Washington.

This isn't just any old oval race track... it is dozens of young biker freaks from all over the country racing their choppers, cafes, 3-wheelers and everything else unsafe and not made for a classic race track. We set up our tents, drank a couple cheap American beers and passed out.

The races included divisions such as Harley motors, ladies, lawnmowers, snowmobiles and choppers-only. It was carnage. We watched a dude fully get thrown off his chopper only to get ran over by a massive enduro driven by a guy in a chicken costume. Then there was the flying slice of pizza and then the Harleys who started hitting a big dirt jump in the center of the track.

The Rusty Butcher dudes were there doing what they do best, ripping around a track and hitting random piles of dirt as table-top jumps.

The ladies class was rad as usual. Tori from See Sees took the gold medal even though the bike she practiced on shit out on her and she rode the HD 750 that she had never been on before. That chick rules.

Our lead-hand Sam took gold in the vintage classic devision of the Pro series the night before Dirt Quake took off. He rode the track both days and made Canada look rad.

The weekend ruled. Dirt Quake 2015 highlights: drunk racing around barrels at 2am, the truck that pulled the boat crash (I was somehow in the back of this truck...) the above bike & it's owner, the flying 3-wheel pizza, the river, Kiki and her boobies, motorcycle babes of America and the dirt that still lives between my toes.

In a couple hours we're heading down to Washington for Dirt Quake put on by See Sees Motorcycles and Sideburn Mag. After the weekend at the flat track, we're continuing down to San Fran for a night, then onward to Venice for a couple days where we're going to chill until Born Free starts on the 26th. I've never been and I'm looking for rad stuff to do! If you're in the area, shoot me a message on the contact tab--it goes straight to my inbox. See you in 2 weeks Vancouver.
